Great River Door uses only the highest quality woods, components & time proven door construction techniques in every door unit that we produce. True mortise & tenon joinery, not dowels or bolts, are used in most every door that we produce. This superior, age old technique, is rarely used by other door companies & allows us to offer the strongest, most structurally stable doors on the market.
Our doors are also engineered with a laminated core for all stile & rail components. A “laminated core” is much like a butcher block top, composed of many strips of wood, all working together to create a stable core that, along with the mortise & tenon joints, will assure stability of the entire door.
We also have a standard door thickness of 2 1/4″ for our exterior doors, most are only 1 3/4″ thick. Not only does this add strength to the door, it also increases the energy efficiency and adds to the aesthetic qualities of each door.
We welcome the chance to discuss, in more detail, what goes into each door that we produce. You can be assured that when you purchase a door from us at “GRD”, first & foremost, you are purchasing the highest quality wood door available.
